Windsor Genova - AHN News News Writer

Windsor Locks, CT, United States (AHN) - Poor visibility forced Air Force One to abort its first landing in Connecticut on Wednesday, but President Barack Obama made it safely to the Bradley International Airport in the plane's second try.

The pilot's decision to not land at 9:50 a.m. and instead go around was routine safety procedure and did not endanger the president, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Obama flew to Connecticut to speak before the graduates of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. From the airport, he motorcaded to the academy instead of flying there by helicopter amid poor weather.

Accompanying the President was Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
